The 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross offers a hybrid engine, which delivers a maximum of 196 horsepower. A 2.0-L gasoline engine develops most of the power under the hood. This I-4 powertrain uses the patented Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) mechanics for combustion. The hybrid system works in tandem with the Electronic On-Demand AWD system. The 2024 Mazda CX-30 can’t extract more than 191 net horsepower from the standard 2.5-L SKYACTIV-G engine block. Featuring the Cylinder Deactivation technology, this signature powerplant yields an estimated fuel economy of 33 mpg on the highway. In stark contrast, the 2024 Corolla Cross gets up to 38 mpg on the highway and 45 mpg in the city. You could also tow a 1,500-pound trailer with this electrified Toyota crossover SUV. A continuously variable transmission system finds the ideal gear settings for towing, hauling, and other types of driving. This hybrid model is even available with a sport-calibrated suspension system. Some notable components of this enhanced suspension include hydraulic shock absorbers and a stabilizer bar. Running on the i-ACTIV AWD with the Off-Road Traction Assist, the 2024 CX-30 has respectable all-terrain capabilities. However, the SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission only offers six gear speeds.
Design Features
Toyota offers seven production-level colors for the 2024 Corolla Cross. Some paint options that make bold statements include Barcelona Red and Cypress. This compact crossover SUV is available with up to five dual-tone finishes. In fact, the Acidic Blast is only compatible with Jet Black. The 2024 CX-30 is only available in single-tone colors, such as Deep Crystal Blue and Platinum Quarts. You’ll have to pay additional fees for premium paint, including Soul Red and Snowflake White. This athletic Mazda crossover SUV rolls on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Black and Glossy Black finishes are available for the Corolla Cross’ alloy wheels. LED technology is installed on the car’s stop lights, headlamps, fog lamps, and daytime running lights. Similarly, the CX-30 uses LED technology on the headlights, rear combination lights, and DRLs. Some of the Toyota model’s other notable exterior accents include Matte Black side mirrors and chrome badges. Additionally, the car’s rocker panels and fenders have a black finish.
Safety Features
The 2024 Corolla Cross is equipped with nine airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag. This compact Toyota car has side-curtain airbags in the front row.
