Performance Features
The 2024 Toyota Corolla grabs 169 horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine block. Operating on the VVT-i mechanics, the I-4 engine spits out more than 150 pound-feet of torque. The 2024 Honda Civic doesn’t get more than 158 net hp from a 2.0-L engine. This standard gas powerplant has a peak torque rating of just 138 lb-ft. Several Civic trims offer the ECON, Normal, and Sport modes. Similarly, the Corolla offers the Eco, Normal, and Sport settings. You can also get this compact Toyota sedan with a 1.8-L hybrid engine. Based on extensive testing, the hybrid powertrain offers a fuel economy of up to 53 mpg in the city and 46 mpg on the highway. On its best day, the 2024 Civic gets only 42 mpg on the highway and 33 mpg in the city. This lightweight Honda sedan runs on a continuously variable transmission and a front-wheel drive. You could get the Dynamic Shift CVT or electronically controlled CVT for the Corolla. This compact Toyota sedan rolls on the exclusive Electronic On-Demand AWD when equipped with a hybrid engine. You won’t find any hybrid components or an AWD system on the Civic.

The mid-level Civic trims come with eight generic speakers. You’ll have to pay much more for the optional 12-speaker Bose audio system.
